Matters arising:-
Woodberry.: Andy reported Only 2 boats showed up but there were a few dry land sailors who arrived in time to join in a great fish and chip supper! This has the makings for an excellent annual event. We were well received by the owners who hoped that there might be a bigger turnout next year.
Sail past: Bob reported that approx. 26 boats took part. Unfortunately the Mayor was late arriving as had to dry off after getting “dunked”in the tank. Lots of boats under sail as the KLSA took a beak between races..
BBQ;. The summer BBQ took place at Greta & Eric Smiths ‘Longbeach lakefront on July 21st. We were even lucky enough to be able to sit around the fire in the evening. Our thanks to Eric and Greta for hosting such an enjoyable event.
Flares; After the BBQ, the long hot, dry, spell raised the Forest Fire Index to such a high level that we had to cancel the scheduled ‘flare fire off. It was decided that we would try to fix another date in the fall.’
