For this occasion Commanders Bill and Mike received temporary </div> <div> promotion to “BBQ Cook”, and proved that they were well qualified for the position.</div> <bR> <div> One of the highlights of the afternoon was the opportunity to tour the </div> <div> 100ft long x 25ft beam ship that Vern is building. </div> <bR> <div> A year and a half ago, Captain Vern decided that the time was right to get back </div> <div> to work on his charter- tour boat venture. Since then he has made substantial </div> <div> changes to the previous layout of the boat. </div> <bR> <div> He has lowered the whole superstructure by three feet. replacing the previous </div> <div> staterooms below the main deck with 5 watertight bulkheads for additional safety.</div> <div> He then added a 35' promenade deck and extended the wheelhouse by 11 feet. </div> <bR> <div> These changes provide for 8 staterooms each with it's own washroom, a lounge, </div> <div> a dining room, a bar and a full galley. The intent is to provide all inclusive charters </div> <div> on Kootenay Lake and the West Arm.
